Thirty Hour Longcase Clocks

Thirty hour longcase clocks run for one day only. They are wound by pulling on the ‘continuous’ rope or chain through the trunk door. It is a common concern that winding the clock every day will be a chore, but the reality is that once it becomes a routine, it becomes part of the pleasure of owning the clock. 30 hour longcase clocks have the advantage of generally being smaller than 8 day clocks. They can also exhibit some of the most interesting and quirky work of the clockmaker.
