Walnut Longcase Clocks

English walnut was used in longcase clocks mainly has a veneer, quite often as ‘book matched’ panels. Veneering in walnut was an expensive process and therefore used predominantly in high value London clocks and some finer provincial examples. In was used in clock case manufacturing from around 1680 to 1750.
