A high quality, limited edition skeleton clock by the respected makers Thwaites and Reed, Clerkenwell. This one is no.50 of 100 & dated 1973. Thick ‘Rafter’ style plates style plates & beautifully turned pillars & skeletonised dial. Ribbon fusee with maintaining power. The special feature however is the beautifully made Coup Perdu escapement- fascinating to watch- which, via the gearing gives dead-beat seconds on the subsidiary dial. The whole beautifully made and finished. The original dome is included with the clock, although not shown in the photograph.

A French 8 day ‘lift-front’ mantel clock by Savoine A Paris. Silk suspension movement, striking the hours and half hours on a bell by countwheel. Signed on the back-plate & white enamel dial. Blued Trefoil hands. The rosewood case with boxwood stringing overall, and boxwood frets to the sides and base. Top window & ornate cast brass gilded handle.
