JOHN MORGAN, LONDON BRACKET CLOCK

A rare automata twin fusee bracket clock by john Morgan, London. The good quality five pillar, verge escapement movement with pull release repeat and well engraved back plate. The very attractive 7″ dial featuring a charming scene of drinkers outside a rural inn, being entertained by a fiddler. The fiddler’s bow arm, a bird in a bush, and the barmaids arm are automated by the pendulum action and so are in constant motion. Matted dial centre, with signed plate behind an attractively shaped aperture, original hands. The beautifully proportioned case has choice veneers and lovely colour. Inverted bell top, six lights with fish scale frets to the sides and arches of both doors. A rare and most attractive
clock.
