A superb little 9”/23cm fusee drop dial. Everything is top quality! Heavy chain fusee movement with very thick plates and decorative shoulders and knopped pillars painted convex 9” dial signed “Josh. Merrick, 28 Paul St, Finsbury”. (Britten lists him here 1819-42). Locked cast bezel and convex glass. Beautifully made hands. The mahogany case is a little gem, beautifully made and finished with ebony cock bead, choice veneer and brass inlay.
