These weight driven, long pendulum wall clocks are quite a quite rare descendent of the Tavern Clock. The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and is very closely related to a longcase movement. The 11”/ 28cmpainted dial has it’s original paint & signed ‘R.Wynhall, East Looe. The mahogany case is particularly slim and well proportioned with decorative cross banding, canted trunk corners & brass surround to the dial. Does everything a longcase does but in a lot less space!
